Coffee and CadillacsTrying to write a short story, while reciting French verbs on an empty stomach can be quite irksome. See, without my daily elevenses, my mind just turns to T.V. All my characters become rebellious American boys who work in diners, wearing backwards baseball caps and holding coffee pots. The waiter boys at this café are either skinny kids with limp, greasy hair and scowls for days. Except for the one with the dark chocolate hair you could get lost in and a smile possibly insured for millions. His shirt is white, immaculate. I wonder what his mother puts into his laundry.
